Jonathan Alcock & Sons and George Hill introduce the Afterstone collection

We're glad to share that two respected North West funeral directors, Jonathan Alcock & Sons and their sister company, George Hill Funeral Directors, have introduced the Afterstone collection to the families they look after.

The two firms are part of the same family group, serving Cheshire and the Stockport area, and both have written about Afterstone on their own websites. You can read their articles here:

Why this matters to us

When a funeral director chooses to tell the families they serve about Afterstone, that carries real weight. These are people who sit with families in the days after someone dies and who know better than anyone what brings comfort and what does not. Having them introduce our pieces is a quiet vote of confidence, and not one we take lightly.

What families will find

Afterstone pieces are handmade in Devon. Each one holds a small amount of a person's or an animal's ashes within a smooth, stone-like material, so the flecks and variations it carries are unique to them and to no one else. The pieces are cold-cast rather than kiln-fired, which keeps the carbon footprint low and gives each one its particular feel: smooth and velvety, weighty without being cold.

The collection runs from solo pebbles small enough to hold in a pocket, through to pebble sets for families who want to share, to hearts, teddy bears, bowls, vases and lidded pots that sit naturally in an everyday home. Every piece can be engraved with a loved ones name.
