Our vision
Afterstone was born from a vision to create an elegant, understated brand that would provide all you need to organise and commemorate life beautifully.
We wanted to take the stress out of hunting for elegant, well-made items to create a truly meaningful farewell, and we believe these important items should be accessible to everyone, so we've made sure our prices are affordable. We created handpicked sets to help make your search easier.
Our purpose
To make the process of arranging your loved one’s commemoration as kind and as easy as possible.

Our UK-based team is here to support you with comfort and understanding and to answer any questions you may have about our products and services. We can also arrange delivery directly to your funeral director or crematorium for your convenience.
When you select a product that incorporates your loved one’s ashes, we will send you an ash container that meets postage requirements and prepaid packaging to make the process as easy for you as possible.
We follow a rigorous process to ensure the safety and security of your loved one’s ashes whilst in our care and provide regular updates regarding the progress of your loved one’s bespoke products.
Commitment to British economy and planet
We believe in putting people and the planet before profit. We collaborate with local artisans and consultants and source our goods and supplies from British manufacturers.
We use sustainable materials and minimise packaging waste where we can while still delivering a thoughtful unpackaging experience that feels personal and considerate. This is also why we offer our gift boxing service separately.
Our efforts support the local and British economy and reduce transport miles which brings significant environmental benefits for both consumers and the planet.

Our founders story

From an early age, creativity has always been at the heart of everything I do, both at work and at home. Losing a family member at a very young age, who was cremated and whose ashes were scattered, was particularly life-defining. The only public acknowledgement of their life is an entry in the book of remembrance, visible just one day each year. This shaped my preference for burial – to visit a tangible spot – yet I found graveyards sorrowful when, over generations, the large headstones became neglected and forgotten.
Seeking an alternative for those who wish to scatter ashes in natural places they love, I envisioned memorials that are meaningful but environmentally friendly, understated, and affordable, leading to the idea of memorial-engraved pebbles created in both wood and stone.
As I attended more loved ones’ funerals and buried more pets, I saw a need for products that could celebrate a loved one's life in a more subtle, contemporary way. This led me to seek out items that could hold or incorporate ashes while blending quietly into everyday home life.
Finally, since COVID-19, direct cremation has become more common. It became clear that there was a growing need for a contemporary business that provides everything required to commemorate a life beautifully, offering a single place where people can arrange a commemoration that feels right for them.
This inspired the full concept of Afterstone Ltd as you find it today. In 2025, I took the plunge and left the corporate world of the Life Sciences and Technology industries to build my dream.
