Product details

The candle plate is shaped to hold the pillar candle securely, while the match pot — with its integrated striker — sits alongside as a practical and discreet companion.

The candle itself is made in the UK using traditional methods and ingredients, chosen for its steady, clean burn and consistent light.

Each pottery piece is hand-thrown in Devon as part of the wider Afterstone pottery collection. Natural variations in form and finish are part of the making process, giving each piece its own character.

Candle care

Trim the wick to approximately 10mm before each use. Ensure the candle is upright and secure on the plate. Remove all packaging before lighting. To prevent tunneling, burn the candle for 2-4 hours the first time it is lit. Avoid placing near drafts, vents, or open windows. Do not leave burning candles unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Keep wicks trimmed to ¼ inch before each burn. Do not allow the candle to burn completely to the base; extinguish before it reaches the holder.

Match care

Coloured matches comply with European Union safety requirements (GPSR). Store in a dry, warm place away from open flames and moisture. Keep away from children and pets. Keep out of direct sunlight. These are NOT strike-anywhere matches and need the striker pad to light. Do not use excessive force when striking.
