Jon Brewster collection inspiration

Jon draws his inspiration from the inherent beauty of the North Devon landscape, where the dramatic coastline meets rolling moorland. His work is a direct reflection of this environment, utilising a signature palette of soft greens, sea blues, and rich earthy tones to bridge the gap between the land and the sea.

Jon is proud to collaborate with Afterstone, a collaboration built on the belief that everyone should have a dignified way to honour a loved one or a cherished animal companion. By bringing his artisanal skill to Afterstone’s collection, Jon provides a lasting touchstone for those navigating the journey of loss.

The ethos of Jon’s collection is rooted in traditional craft and environmental stewardship. Jon’s goal is to create simple, functional pieces that bring quiet joy to everyday life while treading as lightly as possible on the planet.

  • Hand-Thrown: Each piece is individually hand-thrown on the wheel, ensuring a unique and personal quality
  • Raw Glazes: All glazes are meticulously formulated and made in-house from raw ingredients
  • Solar Powered: To minimise the carbon footprint, the studio and firing processes are supplemented by solar energy

Jon is based in the heart of the West Country with his family. His studio is shaped by the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding North Devon wilderness. Through his work, he captures a small essence of this landscape, ensuring its beauty endures in clay for generations to come.
